Cookie policy
Last updated:
This policy describes, under article 22.2 of Spanish Law 34/2002 (LSSI-CE) and the Spanish Data Protection Agency's cookie guidance, which cookies and similar technologies (browser local storage) the Brillava site, operated by Dathent SAX, S.L., uses and how you can manage them. The Spanish version (Política de cookies) prevails.
1. What cookies and local storage are
A cookie is a small file the site stores in your browser to remember information between visits. Local storage (localStorage) serves a similar purpose, but its content is not sent automatically to the server with every request. Both are subject to the same information and consent rules.
2. Current situation: necessary items and an optional first-party measurement
The site uses no third-party analytics, personalisation or advertising cookies. We load no Google Analytics, social-media pixels or any external measurement tool. The strictly necessary technical items listed in section 3 do not require consent.
In addition, only if you choose "Accept" in the banner, the site runs its own anonymous usage measurement so we can see how many people reach the calculator, how many finish it and how many send a request (conversion funnel). With "Necessary only" this measurement is not enabled and nothing is sent.
How it works: the browser generates a random session identifier stored in sessionStorage (cleared when you close the tab; not a cookie, does not persist between visits) and sends to our own server (Cloudflare Workers, no analytics third parties) the event name (for example "page viewed", "calculator started", "step 3", "request sent", "button clicked"), the page path, the language and the time. No form data and no personal data are sent.
On the server we also store a digest (SHA-256 hash with a salt that changes every day) of your IP address to count distinct visitors per day without keeping the IP, and a device class (mobile / desktop). Events are kept for 13 months and then deleted automatically. You can withdraw your choice at any time from section 4; from then on no further events are sent.
3. Cookies and storage used by the site
| Name | Type | Set by | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| brillava-cookie-choice | localStorage, necessary | Brillava (first party) | Remember your banner choice ("all" = accept, "necessary" = necessary only) so it is not shown again. | Until you delete it or reset it from this page. |
| brillava-lang | localStorage, necessary | Brillava (first party) | Remember the chosen language (ES/EN). | Until you delete it. |
| brillava-session | sessionStorage, measurement (only after "Accept") | Brillava (first party) | Random session identifier grouping the usage events of one visit (section 2). Not a cookie, does not identify you and is shared with nobody. | Until you close the tab. |
| brillava-chat | sessionStorage, necessary (functional) | Brillava (first party) | Identifier and key of your site-chat conversation, so it stays open if you reload the page. Only exists if you open the chat. | Until you close the tab or end the chat. |
| __cf_bm | Technical cookie, necessary | Cloudflare (third party, hosting and security) | Tell automated traffic from people to protect the site and API against bots. | 30 minutes. |
| cf_clearance | Technical cookie, necessary | Cloudflare (third party) | Remember that you passed a Cloudflare security check (Turnstile or challenge) so it is not repeated. | Up to 1 year, per Cloudflare configuration. |
| Cookies from challenges.cloudflare.com | Technical cookie, necessary | Cloudflare Turnstile (third party) | The anti-bot widget on the forms loads from challenges.cloudflare.com and may set its own cookies on that domain to complete verification. | Session / per Cloudflare. |
Cloudflare cookies are necessary for the security of the site and forms (verifying that a request comes from a person) and rely on our legitimate interest; they do not require consent. See Cloudflare's cookie policy.
The site's typefaces load from Google Fonts. That request sends your IP address to Google but sets no cookies.
4. How to change or withdraw your choice
You can change your choice at any time with the button below: it clears the stored choice and shows the banner again.
You can also delete or block cookies and local storage in your browser settings (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge). If you block Cloudflare cookies the request forms may be unable to verify that you are a person and may not work.
5. More information
The processing of the associated personal data is explained in the Privacy policy. The site owner's details are in the Legal notice. Questions: [email legal].
